Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University

The erstwhile College of Fine Arts & Architecture was one of the foremost institutions of Art in India. It was established in the year 1940, and has been providing higher education in the filed of arts and architecture for more than seven decades. Taking its roots as a ‘School of Arts and Crafts’ to promote arts and local crafts, the institute then became the Government College of Arts and Architecture under the management of the Department of Technical Education, Government of Telangana, Hyderabad. With the establishment of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Oct. 1972, the College merged with the university and became a Constituent College of the JNT University.Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University was bifurcated and divided into four different universities which gave birth to JNAFA University, Masab Tank in 2008. Students study specialised courses in like architecture, painting, sculpture, applied art and photography. In addition, new departments in the creative fields have been added, in response to development in technology and changes in society.
